The Messermeister Adventure Chef's Knife is one of the very few of its kind, a folding Chef's knife. And for this fact (few have attempted a good folding chefs knife, I give it 4 stars). I like the curved blade which supports a solid rocking motion for chopping, the width of the blade does well with smashing garlic etc. The blade holds it's sharpness well and the handle material (distressed linen) is sturdy, with grip and tooth even when wet. The handle is much longer than I thought it would be, this pushes the balance point back farther than I would like, though this isn't meant to be a high volume production knife, but if I were iterating on the design I would try to work this through. The blade lock seems solid and shouldn't fail with normal use. The overall knife doesn't feel as heafty/solid as I would like, but I am sure a backpacker will appreciate weight (which is less than 255 g, but this is heavier than my traditional 6 inch chefs knife which comes in at 185g) The blade swings open smoothly with no side to side play. This is made and assembled in China. This would earn a perfect score if the balance was better, the handle/blade ratio was changed slightly (more blade less handle) But I am overjoyed owning a quality folding Chef's knife! (the picture shows a traditional chef's knife for comparison and demonstrates the balance point of both knives. )

It was a gift. My son in law loved it

Bought this as a Christmas gift for the hubby, of course I had to open and check it out as he’s been talking about these knives for a while now, I must say I am impressed! The packaging, the case in which they come in and the quality of the knifes are very nice!

Bought one for a gift for a friend who's a great cook/chef and he loved it. Ours will travel with us on fishing and hunting trips and in the autobar for lemons and limes.

Saw these on the Today show and ordered 2 as gifts. They are beautiful and sturdy. Am considering more for hard to buy for family at Christmas.
There was a ordering problem due to a mistake on my end. The Messermeister company actually had a phone number I could call, which I prefer. They were friendly and generous in helping me with my problem. Great company and product.

Best necessity to any campground!

Working very well as I dived our home grown !

High quality. The knife is much bigger than I expected and fits my hand nicely. This is a great product.

All three parts of this package are the quality I expect. I anticipate many years of enjoyment using this traveling and camping. The only fault I find is the balance of the knife. It is about as good as can be expected in a folding knife without sacrificing durability.

This was a gift to my daughter and son-in-law, you would have thought it was Christmas by their reactions. They love it. They are both very good cooks who love to camp. Very good product, timely delivery and nice follow up. I'm sure they will be in touch again. Tks. Jim

Love this knife set for camping and have bought it as a gift for my friends/family who have campers or live out of their built out vans/cars. It travels well and is compact but also functions the way that you need it to when you're outdoors.

Beautiful well designed and very sturdy.

The blade is just fine, the handle is way too big, though, for my hands, which are "normal" sized.

Great knife and chopping board use it for camping when out hiking and use it at work because all the work ones are blunt…Great bit of kit love it.

This far exceeded my expectations. Excellent build quality and a great feel to it. The pictures don’t do it justice. Tried it out with some vegetables and it performed great. Edge is super sharp. My only regret is not buying the entire set.
Highly recommend for anyone that cooks while camping or in the road.

I pledged after watching Adam Glick work as a professional Chef on a yacht for a reality show based in the Mediterranean. From that I decided Adam knows his stuff and has my full support on development of these Chef-inspired products and that they will perform as promised. I hope the products become very successful. My reward will go to my Son, a self-professed foodie and outdoors cook who perfected his skills in the field of tailgating! Have cast iron pan, and now Adventure Chef Collection, will travel.

Looks better in person, and feels solid like my kitchen knives.

Got my folding camp utensil today, quite a stunning piece of the kit. I see this getting a lot of use. The micarta scales should show some nice honest wear in time. everything is tight and locks up well. The utensils are properly centered. The blade is sharp. The blade grind is very slightly off on one side but I have to look very close under a strong light to notice. A few minutes with a fine ceramic rod and then a good stropping and it zips through the gnarliest root vegetable or game meat The fork is narrow and long with sharp tines. It will definitely keep the food steadily secured. As a bonus I could probably secure it to a stick and us it as a fish gig! The spoon is well designed for its function. Something I really like about this unit is how well everything works together. I've tried this type before and found a soup spoon and a full size fork that made it nearly impossible to grasp. I really like the way the spoon actually enhances a comfortable hold.
