I bought this set for my oldest daughter due to her love of cooking. I wanted her to have a knife set that would last many years. Fortunately, I get to use this set whenever I am invited for dinner, as she loves putting me to work when I’m there. Some of the observations listed here are actually hers. The blades are extremely sharp and have remained so for quite some time. She has a BOOS cutting board which is great. I’m more fascinated in being able to cut razor thin cucumber slices with the Santoku, as well as, easily deboning a ham for my smoker. One of the reasons I picked this set is because of the round handles, which fits perfectly in the hand and the walnut wood looks very rich. The Chef knife is well balanced, as are all the larger knives. They really are surprisingly light and I don’t notice any fatigue. My daughter loves the paring knife too. We could not be any happier with the quality. When it comes to countertop space she dislikes a cluttered area, however the block holds the knives easily and she’s decided to toss her old knives that have been thrown in the knife draw for the past 5 years. Overall, great value, well made and makes cooking enjoyable.
