FEATURES

The German 1.4116 stainless steel carbon alloy blade resists stains and corrosion, exhibits toughness and durability, holds its edge retention, and is easy to re-sharpen to a razor-like edge.
This knife line is one-piece, hot-drop hammer forged, which produces the strongest blade from heel to tip. The blades are heat treated and cooled to achieve a Rockwell of 57-58.
The three-step, 15° Elite edge is hand stropped on a cloth wheel, creating the sharpest possible cutting surface on an edged tool.
The bolsterless heel simplifies all cutting, sharpening and honing tasks, making use of the entire blade from heel to tip.
Handcrafted in the historic cutlery capital of Solingen, Germany.

I had to replace my previous San Moritz Elite 6-inch Utility knife originally purchased 10 years ago. It had fallen on a stone floor handle first. The handle shattered thus making the knife impossible to use. I have a set of these knives and "can't" cook without them. Therefore it needed to be replaced. Thank goodness it is still manufactured with the same qualities of my original knife.Having small hands the design, weight and balance of my 6-inch utility knife and it's companions make preparing food a pleasure. I would recommend this knife for any cook who is serious about the tools they use to get the job done.Jan

This is probably one of the most useful knife design ever. This is my second most used knife after my chef knife. Messermeisters are SUPER sharp out of the box, not as sharp as the shuns but that changes quickly. after a few uses the shuns lose their ultra sharpness.Messermeisters handles are the best in the world hands down I have never used any other more confortable knives than messermeisters they are are practically indestructible I have a 10 year old messermeiser that has seen the dishwasher at least 100 times I used it everyday for at least 8 hours a day until it got dull so I ordered a replacement.what did I do with my old knife i sent it over to messermeister for free sharpening when I got my knife back not only did they restore the elite edge they actually polished half of the blade and believe it or not the resharpened knife is actually sharper than the new one!!now I use my old knife for all my cooking and the new one to show off and cook in front of people. dont be fooled by the low prices once you try a messermeister you wont use anything else.
