I'm obsessed with this knife. Actually this purchase was to buy one for a friend that was in love after trying mine. It is the only way to cut a tomato, and while that sounds a bit dramatic, once you use it you'll understand.

I have used these little knives for years and enjoy them. Caution: they are very sharp and you can easily cut yourself.

This is a great little knife. So far, I've used it to to cut up veggies, and to slice bread. Works great! I love the guard, too.

knives a while ago, in red, and decided to get one. Glad it comes in black because I'm removing all the colored cutlery (mostly paring knives) from the kitchen. Knife itself cuts tomatoes well. Guess if you're not careful, you could easily slice through a finger. Textured plastic makes this better than the KR tom knife. Handles well and sits well in my hand. Based on my memory of my old Messermeister serrated knife,, the plastic on this is much rougher around the seams, especially noticeable on the protective sheath. Fine where the sheath is concerned, but would prefer not to see hanging plastic on the handle. Best in its price range.

This knife is the BOMB DOT COM!!! Is it sharp? Oh heck yeah it's sharp! This cuts through any tomato with insane ease! It's also the perfect size for most jobs. Not too large or too small. The handle is quite comfortable to hold as well. Not sure why...but I have a longer serrated knife and it's not nearly as sharp as this one. Never was....so I'm quite impressed with this gem. I say....if you're looking for a nice knife to have at the ready....this is it. Give it try....I doubt you'll be sorry. The item was shipped quickly and it perfect condition. (I mean....what can happen to a knife, right? hehehe) I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend this to everyone! :)

I can't say enough about this little knife. I thought it wouldn't be any good but boy was I surprised. I use it almost every day. It cuts my vegetables, especially the tomatoes so good, I can't believe it. I keep it on my drain board because I use it constantly. I am so glad I got this. I have mini tomatoes growing outside in a pot and they are hard to cut, but this little knife breezes right thru perfect for my salad. Probably should order another one to keep as a spare. Watch out for fingers, because this sharp, thin blade will slice through tomatoes cleanly, and almost anything you don’t want crushed when slicing. Even works great on hard boiled eggs. This is my 2nd one. The first disappeared and I was in a panic.

This is such a wonderful little knife. I have had it almost 2 years and love it every time I use it. It easily slices through food leaving a clean edge without pressing it down. The case helps keep it in good condition. Great for cutting soft items that can give when trying to cut. It is the only knife I use for my tomatoes now. Love, love, love it.

I found one of these a few years ago at a kitchen supply store and it has become one of our favorite knives. It works great for tomatoes and other soft produce. We love it so much I've gifted four of them. The holder is a good feature because this cute little puppy is SHARP. You really wouldn't want to fumble for it in a drawer without the holder.

Bought to replace one that got lost...

For the price and steel of blade, it is an excellent knife for what it's intended for. I use it on most veggies of course except for hard ones like potatoes and ontions. Will purchase a few more as I always use it and often find it in the dishwasher or dirty sink.

Have been using these for awhile and as long as you dry them 100% before putting them back in their red sheath, they will last a long time. I bought 3 of them and put one in the dishwasher then noticed it rusted. I was able to use a brillo pad and get the rust off, so now I handwash and dry them and use them often.

Lightweight yet feels like good quality. Cuts open avocadoes and slices tomatoes well and I imagine it works well for many other fruits and veggies too. Not sturdy enough for dense things like raw root vegetables though in my opinion.

This our second tomato knife and it is very sharp with a little flexability. Perfect for tomatoes or other vegstable or fruit with a strong skin. Our first knife is about six years old and still going strong.

I've owned 2 of these knives over the past 15-20 years. One of them broke at the tang after many many years of hard use, so I docked it a star on durability but that's not really fair for a $8 knife.Otherwise I LOVE this knife. When I hand it to other people to cut some citrus, it blows their mind. Professional bartenders immediately go buy one. I should buy 6 of them.Don't pay $16 for this knife though..someone is jacking up the price around xmas since this is a perfect stocking stuffer.

This is the greatest tomato knife. I had one like that in Germany and was so happy to find it here. I have lots of knives, some are expensive but this inexpensive serrated knife is my favorite. I use it for tomatoes of course and it slices them without crushing them but I use it for taking the tops of eggs, cutting lemons, oranges, anything that's hard to cut with a regular knife.

I have a love/hate relationship with this knife. I have removed the tip of my middle finger by accident using it (don't use this to slice tomatoes when you're sleepy!) but it also makes such quick work of anything I cut with it I'm kind of in love as well ;P

I got this knife 4 years ago and use it everyday and not just for tomatoes. It is my go- to knife. I love the red color makes it easy to find. Last Christmas I decided to buy another one because two is better than one and WOW was that new one sharp! I thought my 4 year old one was plenty sharp, the new one is almost dangerous sharp. Awesome, awesome, awesome little tomato knife. You know what I love about it? It makes the thinnest slices of tomato, and doesn't squish the guts out of the tomato. Perrrrrfect for sandwiches when you don't want a big slice of tomato. Darn, this knife is a surprise gem in a rock field. Highly remcommend.

It's just like the knife (same brand) I bought ten years ago. Only difference is the original knife was made in Germany while this one is "German steel" but made in Portugal. It's very sharp. My only question is how long the blade will maintain its edge.

I was very excited to receive my Petite Messer (as it's labeled on the blade), since I've used one for years which a few days ago got lost or thrown away. I find it to be an indispensable tool, alongside my other good knives. I won't review it further now, that's not the point of this comment.As I washed the knife for the first time, I saw blood in the sink and I couldn't believe it. Did I (a highly knife-experienced person) actually run my finger down the business-edge of the blade while cleaning it? I was stunned.What had happened was that the back (top) or spine of the knife blade was never deburred after machining, leaving two razor-sharp edges (the top edges of the blade in cutting position). Sliding my finger along the back edge of the blade while cleaning it sliced me pretty deep. Yow!I've deburred/softened those edges with a stone and some fine sandpaper, like the factory should have done in the first place. Now I have an excellent and very safe knife. My finger hurts but it will heal.Dangerous, yow!

Best tomato knife I have ever owned. Very sharp and serrated to cut through the skin without crushing the inside of the tomato. It is also good for peeling and paring other vegetables.

I thought my husband was nuts for getting this just for tomatoes when he could have used a steak knife... Then I used it once.. It really does go through alot easier. If doing it on a paper plate, it will "shred" the plate. If doing it toward your finger, be VERY CAREFUL its really sharp with serrated edges. I stop before going through the "skin" of the tomato (or mine) and then just pull apart so it won't cut me.
