I love the concept of having a travel knife going on camping adventures. I got both the chief and filet knife to help with my outdoor cooking. I am disappointed in the knifes because they immediately started to show rust spots after the first use. I cleaned them immediately after use and wash them again once home but the next time I pulled them out to use, they had rust spots. This is not what I would expect from an outdoor knife. I have many of pocket knifes used in the same camping areas and do not rust. Be careful and clean often when using the outdoor set.

Had a prob. with liner lock over travel and difficulty disengaging. Customer service was great in accepting the return and replacing with a new knife with a beautiful maple handle. The lock up and ease of use is perfect. Can't wait to get at my first brisket from the smoker !

I like the look and feel of the knife, however, it does not close crisply when not open. Also I have had to use a coin or screwdriver to disengage the liner lock a couple times because it looked so tight I could not move it with my thumb.

I purchased the knife for when we stay an AirBnB's, I have gotten tired of horrible knives in said kitchens, and its a bit cumbersome to bring my knife roll every time we travel. This knife will function beautifully. I have had an opportunity to prepare a number of meal at this point. First I usually use a Wusthof Classic 8" but also have a 6", this knife does not replace the 6" inch mostly because the heel is rather short and I cannot do a proper roll chop with it, If I hold the knife further back I can do a roll chop and it approximates my 8" Wusthof. The blade is very high quality and should last a long time.

The long handle which is necessary because of the length of the blade is cumbersome to hold and use.
Better off with fixed blade knife and a scabbard or sheath.

Was very interested in the knife for road trips and camping. Once we got the folding knife though, I was frustrated. The blade looked great - just as advertised. But the handle/housing is so so long and wide that it is very very awkward to hold, and hard to use. I'm an average size man (5'8" - 5'9") but the knife handle was clearly made for folks around 6'5"! Will be returning the knives.....with great regret, because both the concept and the blades are great.

It's a great knife sharp and easy to handle. Opening and closing is quick and easy, its also easy to clean. It would be nice to have a sheath or pouch so I could careey it on my belt, so when I'm with friends who don't have good knifes I, can pull it out and use it.

Was disappointed that the Maple handle was sold out, but the “distressed linen” will do the job. Feels like a very nice knife in spite of the Made in China stamp. Time will tell! Just got back from 4 nights at Pfeiffer State Park in Big Sur and the folding chef’s knife was a great addition to our van’s kitchen. Just an amazing piece of kit and fits really well in cramped camper van drawers. Loved the fact that it stores folded so there’s less risk of accidents in the middle of no where.

Great knife - lighter than I was expecting (in a good, balanced way). Excellent quality. Be aware - their measurements are 2" off on the handle and overall size. The handle is actually 7.25" long making the overall opened length 13.25".

Handle isn’t perfect. A little back heavy. Doesn’t fit in the palm great. The knife edge could use a little work too. Overall it is a good knife for outdoor use. I really like the folding aspect. I spend a lot of money on my knives & have two very high quality Damascus steel chef knives so I might be unfair/bias in my comparison. It is a good camping knife.
